Miners Alley’s production of The Crucible accentuates how Arthur Miller’s play from the 1950’s is still relevant, even today. It is a timeless parable of morality, a scorching indictment of intolerance, and a central work in the canon of American drama.
“I am a great fan of the work of Arthur Miller, and over the years, I have seen productions of The Crucible, including, most recently, a production from Bedlam Theater, that have inspired me to create our own version of the show. Notably, our cast is only 13 people, with actors doubling parts. And although it feels as if we are in Salem, our production is not set in Salem. In addition to the inherent drama, we’ve also worked to capture the humor in the show. I think audiences will have a complete evening of great theatre!” –Len Matheo
